1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, password, Date of Birth (for age verification and content tailoring), and phone number.
• Profile Information: Information you choose to add to your profile, such as a bio or profile picture.
• User Content: Videos, comments, and other content you upload to the platform.
• Third-Party Authentication: If you choose to sign in using Google or other third-party providers, we receive basic profile information (such as your email and name) from them, governed by their respective privacy policies.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Data: We collect data about how you interact with the Service, including videos watched, time spent on the platform, and interactions with other users.
• Device & Location Information: Information about your device, including IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers. We use your IP address to automatically detect your country or region for localization and legal compliance purposes.

C. Private Groups & CineClubs

FlixNChill offers private, invite-only hubs ("CineClubs"). We deeply respect your privacy within these spaces. We do not monitor or view your private club conversations. For the sake of club functionality and participation, the system only tracks and shares your watch status for the specific film nominated by your club. Your broader watch history remains private and is not shared with club members.

D. Payment Information

We use Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record for all payments. We do not directly collect or store your credit card details or billing information. That information is provided directly to Lemon Squeezy, and their use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy.

E. Profile Privacy & Mutuals

You have the ability to set your FlixNChill profile to "Private". When your profile is Private, your Library (including your watch history, watchlists, dropped lists, and ratings) is hidden from the general public. However, please note that your Library will remain visible to your Mutuals (users that you follow, who also follow you back).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for various purposes, including:

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To personalize your experience and deliver content relevant to your interests.
• To power our Recommendation Engine by analyzing your watch history and creating "Taste Profiles" (Taste DNA) to curate personalized Discovery feeds.
• To communicate with you regarding updates, security alerts, and support messages.
• To monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve user experience.
• To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or fraudulent/illegal activity.

3. Third-Party AI Services & Analytics

To provide enhanced features such as the "Vibe Check" visual search and our interactive conversational chatbot, we utilize third-party artificial intelligence (AI) providers. When you use these specific features, your search queries, uploaded images, and chat inputs may be securely transmitted to and processed by these third-party AI services to generate personalized responses and recommendations. We do not use your personal profile data to train these external models.

AI Usage Analytics: We actively track your usage of our AI features (including token expenditure and feature frequency) to deduct from your AI token balance and to provide you with your personal "AI Analytics" dashboard located on your Profile Stats page.

4. Data Security & Sharing

Your privacy is highly respected. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We implement robust, industry-standard security measures (including encryption in transit) to protect your personal information, though no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar local storage technologies to provide essential functionality for the Service:

• Authentication & Security: To keep you securely signed in across sessions via our Magic Link system.
• Preferences: To remember your interface settings and streaming provider choices.
• Performance: To collect aggregated usage data to improve platform performance and power our recommendation engine.

6. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. You have the right to request complete account deletion at any time through your Account Settings. Initiating account deletion will permanently remove your profile, ratings, and watch history from our active servers.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:

• Access & Export: You can view your data at any time, and you have the right to request a full export of your cinematic journey and watch history directly from your Account Settings. We also provide a Migration Assistant for importing your data from external platforms.
• Correction: You can update or correct your profile information within the app.
• Marketing & Communications: We barely send marketing emails. Any promotional communications are strictly opt-in, and you may withdraw your consent at any time.
