TV Series & Episode Progress Tracking
Understand how granular episode logging, season rollups, and smart status changes work on FlixNChill.
Smart Progress Rollups
No need to manually change status from Watchlist to Watching. FlixNChill manages your library states based on what you watch.
1. The Three Ways to Log TV Progress
Unlike movies which are either watched or unwatched, television tracking on FlixNChill gives you three flexible levels of granularity:
Individual Episode
Click the checkmark beside any individual episode in the season list. Ideal for weekly broadcast viewers or people pacing through a show.
Full Season
Use Mark Season as Watched on the season header. Automatically checks off all episodes in that season with a single click.
Full Series
Click Mark as Watched on the show banner. Completes all released regular seasons and awards the Full Series completion badge.
2. Smart Catch-Up Prompts
Ever started tracking a show on Season 3 without wanting to manually click 30 previous episodes? FlixNChill solves this with Smart Catch-Up:
How Smart Catch-Up Works
When you click an episode (for example, Season 2 Episode 5) while earlier episodes or seasons are still unlogged, FlixNChill automatically opens the Catch Up Prompt:
Instantly marks Season 1 as completed, plus Season 2 episodes 1 through 5.
Logs only Season 2 Episode 5, leaving previous episodes unlogged for rewatches or standalone viewings.
3. Automated Library Status Lifecycle
Your show moves through your library automatically based on your viewing activity:
Watchlist (Plan to Watch)
PlanningTriggered when you bookmark a series or add it from Discover. No episodes are marked as watched yet.
Watching (In Progress)
ActiveAs soon as you log your first episode, FlixNChill automatically promotes the show from Watchlist to Watching. Your profile card displays your current progress (e.g. S2 E4).
Watched (Full Series)
CompletedWhen you complete every regular season, the show rolls up to Watched and awards the Full Series badge. If a brand-new season premieres in the future, the show automatically shifts back to Watching.
Dropped (Archive)
ArchivedDecided to abandon a series? Marking it as Dropped archives the show from your active Watching feed and discovery recommendations, while still safely preserving the episodes you previously watched.
4. Episode & Season Ratings
You don't have to wait until a series finale to leave thoughts or scores:
Episode Reviews & Spoilers
Click the star or review icon on any episode to record a 1–5 star rating and written journal. Spoiler tags ensure your mutuals don't see twists until they've watched that episode too.
Season-Level Scores
Rate full seasons independently. Perfect for shows that had an exceptional debut season or varied quality between showrunners.
5. Frequently Asked Questions
Do Season 0 / Specials count toward Full Series completion?
No. Special episodes (interviews, behind-the-scenes, or Season 0) are tracked separately and do not block your "Full Series" completion badge.
If I accidentally uncheck an episode, does it delete my review?
No. Your ratings and written reviews are safely stored independently. Unchecking an episode simply removes the watch timestamp from your current active progress.
How do rewatches work for TV shows?
Each time you log an episode, FlixNChill records the date. If you rewatch an episode on a different date, that viewing is appended to your timeline history.
Does Stremio automatically update my TV progress on FlixNChill?
No. To protect your watch streaks, ratings, and Taste DNA recommendations from false playback logs, the FlixNChill Stremio addon is strictly read-only. It reflects your active TV progress (e.g., S2 E4) directly in your Stremio catalogs and synopsis overview, but never writes data to your account behind your back. To log an episode from the couch, scan the Couch QR code in the episode details to mark it watched in one tap on your phone.
