Creator Gate & Platform Integrity
Guidelines for uploading Editz, technical video specifications, content authenticity rules, and verification criteria.
High-Fidelity Cinema Community
Our policies protect cinephiles from spam, copyright abuse, and misleading metadata.
The Creator Gate: Account Requirements
FlixNChill celebrates original film and TV fan creations through the Editz feed. To ensure this space remains a high-signal showcase rather than an unmoderated dumping ground for bots and spam, all accounts must satisfy the Creator Gate before sharing clips:
7-Day Account Age Threshold
Your FlixNChill account must be at least 7 full days (168 hours) old. During this initial week, you are invited to browse, like, bookmark, and review cinema while establishing your genuine community profile.
Instant Verified Access
Accounts holding an official Blue Verified or Gold Brand badge bypass the 7-day waiting period entirely, enjoying unrestricted instant access to the Editz uploader.
Account Standing: Accounts with active community violations, suspensions, or restricted statuses are barred from the Editz studio regardless of account age or verification status.
Technical Video Specifications
Upload cinematic clips smoothly across desktop and mobile by following these formatting guidelines:
90-Second Maximum
Editz are bite-sized cinematic moments capped at 90 seconds. Files exceeding this limit are automatically trimmed to the opening 90 seconds during upload.
9:16 Portrait Ratio
While widescreen (16:9) and square clips are accepted, vertical 9:16 portrait video delivers the most immersive experience on both mobile devices and desktop feeds.
Supported Formats
Supports standard video files including .mp4, .mov, and .webm (.mp4 recommended).
Custom Cover Scrubbing
During Step 3 of the uploader, use the interactive scrubber slider to choose the exact video frame used as your thumbnail. You can review your title, cover, and tags in a live interactive mobile preview before going live.
Anti-Clout Chasing & Content Authenticity
The heart of FlixNChill is accurate film discovery. When users watch an edit they love, they tap the title tag to add that title directly to their Watchlist or see where it is streaming. Misleading tags break that connection.
Mandatory Title Linkage Rule
During Step 2 of uploading, you must explicitly accept the Content Authenticity Policy and search for the specific film or TV series appearing in your video.
Zero Tolerance for Clout-Chasing: Tagging unrelated blockbuster titles (e.g., linking Oppenheimer or Stranger Things to an unrelated indie movie or self-shot clip to siphon impressions) is strictly prohibited.
Immediate removal of the edit and formal warning on your profile.
Temporary 30-day revocation of creator upload privileges.
Permanent account ban and blacklist from the Creator Program.
Due to the sensitive nature of content sharing and community safety, this tiered path serves as general guidance. FlixNChill reserves the sole right to accelerate or bypass any progressive warnings, including taking immediate enforcement actions, issuing permanent account bans, or restricting access without prior notice, whenever necessary to protect the community, our users, and platform integrity.
Verification & Brand Badges
Badges establish trust and authenticate public figures across the Town Square, CineClubs, and Editz feeds:

The Horizon: Direct Creator Recognition
Honoring the Craft of Digital Filmmaking
Pioneering fair, artist-first recognition for cinema editors.
We believe film and TV editors are genuine digital artists whose craft deserves more than just algorithm vanity metrics. As the FlixNChill ecosystem matures, we are actively exploring native avenues for the community to directly support, recognize, and reward outstanding creators for their storytelling and cultural impact.
Building a trusted profile today, like maintaining good standing, linking authentic media, and connecting with fellow cinephiles, is the best way to be established as our creator recognition initiatives expand.
6. Frequently Asked Questions
How do I apply for a Blue Verification badge?
Verification applications can be submitted during account onboarding if you are claiming a reserved handle, which protects recognized creators from squatters. You also get the verified badge when you subscribe to our Premium tier plan. Additionally, accounts that remain in good standing and contribute high-quality curation over an internally set period of time may be awarded a verified badge organically.
Can I link multiple movies or TV shows to a single Edit?
Yes. If your edit is a mashup or thematic montage comparing several films, you can search and link multiple titles during Step 2 so viewers can discover all referenced works.
What music or audio can I use in my Editz?
Editz are fan-created transformative tributes. We ask creators to respect artists and avoid uploading unmodified full-length musical tracks. Audio is automatically normalized during the browser mastering process.
Where can I see why an uploaded Edit was held or removed?
Visit your own profile page and navigate to your Editz tab. Any pending or rejected submissions will display a direct status banner with specific feedback provided by the moderation team.
Will creators be able to earn recognition or rewards from their work on FlixNChill?
While video uploads are currently an open, non-monetized space for creative expression, our long-term roadmap envisions meaningful ways for fans to directly show tangible gratitude to editors and curators who elevate cinema culture. Stay tuned as platform milestones are achieved.
