Installation Guide by Device

Desktop & Mobile (1-Click)

  1. Make sure you have the Stremio application installed on your device.
  2. Visit the Stremio Connection Portal while signed in.
  3. Click Install in Stremio. This triggers the native stremio:// protocol.
  4. Stremio will open and display an install prompt. Click Install to confirm.

Android TV & FireStick

  1. Sign in to FlixNChill on your phone or laptop and visit /apps/stremio.
  2. Under Copy Manifest URL, click the Copy button to copy your private URL.
  3. Open Stremio on your TV, navigate to the Addons tab, and click the Search bar.
  4. Paste your manifest URL into the search bar and press Enter to install.

What Catalogs Are Added to Stremio?

Once installed, FlixNChill generates 8 dedicated personal catalogs on your Stremio Discover and Home screens:

Movie Catalogs

Automatic ID Mapping: Stremio requires IMDb identifiers (tt...) to discover streaming sources and subtitles. FlixNChill automatically resolves TMDB IDs to IMDb equivalents under the hood.

Data Integrity: Why FlixNChill Operates Read-Only

A common question from users is: "Why didn't my movie mark as watched automatically when credits rolled?"

Streak & Taste DNA Protection:Stremio's remote addon SDK strictly does not provide verified playback completion events. Other trackers attempt to guess watches using arbitrary timers—meaning if you pause to answer a call, fall asleep, or leave the TV running, it generates false logs that break your streak and ruin your Taste DNA recommendations.

To ensure your watch statistics remain 100% accurate, FlixNChill acts strictly as a read-only companion. It populates your library on your TV, but never performs silent database writes behind your back.

Rating & Logging with Couch QR Codes

Whenever you select any movie or episode inside Stremio, the title overview includes:

  • Your Live Progress: Shows your current status (e.g., "Your Progress: Season 2, Episode 4") or your current personal rating.
  • Direct Web Link: A clickable button on Desktop/Mobile to jump straight to the title on FlixNChill.
  • Couch QR Code: When watching on Smart TV, point your phone camera at the QR code displayed in the synopsis to instantly open the title on your mobile app or browser to rate, review, or mark watched in one tap.

Privacy & Disconnecting Devices

Your Stremio token is a private UUID bound exclusively to your account. Your login credentials, email address, and passwords are never exposed to Stremio.

How to Disconnect All Stremio Players:

If you lose access to a device, sell your TV, or want to revoke access, navigate to Settings > Connected Apps or visit /apps/stremio and click Disconnect All Devices. This invalidates your token immediately, disconnecting all active players.
