The numbers are officially rolling in for Supergirl and it’s looking pretty rough. We are currently looking at a $40 million domestic opening weekend, and it just got hit with a brutal B- CinemaScore.For context on how bad that CinemaScore is for a comic book movie, basically every movie from the old DCEU got a B or higher. The only DC film lower than this is Joker: Folie à Deux.So on paper, this looks like a massive $170M disaster for Chapter One of the new DCU. But here’s the weird part: almost everyone who actually saw it is universally praising Milly Alcock. Even the critics giving the movie rotten reviews are saying she is perfectly cast, brought incredible energy to Kara Zor-El, and absolutely carried the film on her back. What are your thoughts? Was the B- deserved, or are audiences being too harsh?
